Whether we like it or not, we choicelessly & passively consume media messages on a daily basis. In the grocery store, a set of labels influences us to have a certain attitude towards a particular food (perhaps one that isn’t so nutritious as it alleges). Songs piped in from a radio station tell tales of how love gets lost and found. The shows we choose to stream teach us values through their storytelling, whether or not we regard them as educational. Even the buildings we live in influence our physical movements and decisionmaking.

We will never exert full control over these things. However, we must never stop trying to grow awareness of these messages, sharpening our vision and our hearts, so that we may see more clearly through the fog. Day by day, we must wake up!
