In last week’s post, I compared going to church with going to the gym. At the gym, you have to go and actually get on the treadmill to see results, much in the same way you have to actually go to church and do the work of prayer to draw near to God.
But there’s another way that going to church is like going to the gym.
The gym isn’t for a fitness geeks or super-in-shape people–it’s for everyone to stay fit and healthy.
The church isn’t for spiritual people or perfect people or religious people–it’s for everyone to meet and draw near to God.
To go to the gym, you don’t have to be fit already. All you have to do is be ready to get fit.
To go to church, you don’t have to be perfect already. All you have to do is to be ready to be made perfect.
